About Me

I am a dedicated birth worker, passionate about providing compassionate, culturally competent care to families during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. As a young mother myself, I understand firsthand the importance of having knowledgeable and empathetic support during one of life’s most transformative experiences. My journey into birth work was deeply personal—I have experienced birth trauma, witnessed disparities in maternal health, and felt a calling to make a difference.

With experience as a doula, I am committed to improving birth outcomes, particularly for Black birthing people and families in the Deep South. I have also donated my breast milk to multiple mothers across states, further demonstrating my dedication to maternal and infant health. My ultimate goal is to empower birthing individuals with evidence-based education, emotional support, and holistic care, ensuring they have safe and dignified birthing experiences.

Testimonials

“I am a single mother of three sons and one daughter. Balancing single motherhood and work often feels overwhelming, making it difficult to be everywhere I’m needed. Recently, my daughter gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. While she was excited about becoming a new mom, the stress of labor and delivery led her to experience postpartum depression. She seemed almost detached from the baby, which was heartbreaking to witness.

She had also decided to breastfeed but became immediately discouraged when she struggled to produce enough milk during her first attempt. Her baby even had to spend time in the nursery to monitor his progress, which added to her stress and feelings of inadequacy.

A friend of mine recommended Kaye to provide her doula services, and from the moment Kaye arrived at the hospital, everything changed. She came prepared with all the tools my daughter needed to assist with pumping and feeding. Kaye went above and beyond, even helping to manually express milk to ensure my grandson could start receiving his mother’s milk. Her hands-on support was compassionate and non-judgmental, and I could see an immediate shift in my daughter’s confidence.

Throughout my daughter’s hospital stay, Kaye continued to show up, making sure she was comfortable with feeding and bonding with her baby. Once my daughter was discharged, Kaye didn’t stop there. She made several house visits to ensure my daughter felt supported and equipped for her new role as a mother. She even brought milk to help supplement until my daughter’s milk production was sufficient.

Kaye’s support made all the difference. She provided the kind of care and reassurance that neither myself nor the hospital staff could offer. My daughter is now thriving as a new mom, and I have Kaye to thank for helping her navigate those challenging first days with grace and confidence.”
